Little carved teacups! I threw these on the pottery wheel "off the hump" and then once they had dried out a bit I carved them on our front porch on two sunny afternoons. It was fun to try and make a bunch of the same thing. I ended up making something like 35 of them, and the ones I chose for advent are the ones that (mostly) fit in the boxes.
There are a number of different glaze combinations — I was trying to bring out the texture with how the glaze broke over it. I think the carved lines feel pretty nice in the hand. There are a few that are entirely unique glazes, but most are one of three glazes we use at Seward Park: yellow salt, boney stoney, and lung chun celadon. Those were the three that worked out best from my testing.
